Here you'll find some short articles about Echo-Link, SVXLINK and more.
Brief update on the repeater operation:
After several month of operating on the new frequency, everything seems to be fine. We had no complaints in regards of interference and did not receive any interference. The system is operating at high power e.g. 100 Watt feed and approximately 600-700W ERP.
All in all we are quite happy with the performance. The repeater is used on a daily basis and the HAM's that use it seem to have fun doing so. Unfortunately the receiver was damaged by the de-tuned Duplexer as I believe. Ted KD6AKT donated a partially damaged (Transmit Hum / CTCSS Microphone Hum) TM733 transceiver which we use for the time being as receiver only. The modulation
Index is almost good, but most will not hear the difference. The RSSI project has to take the back seat for the time being since the TM733 does not provide an RSSI and I don't want to butcher the RIG.
Note:
The KJ6ZD and SVXLINK website was down on Aug. 23 2011 for scheduled Maintenance of the Electric Main. The Power Company did shut off the Power for approximately 8 Hours. KJ6ZD's computer battery backup(s) aren't designed to run for prolonged periods of time.
This was a good test for the Repeater emergency power backup which worked as expected. The repeater was operating for the entire duration of the power outage and still had sufficient energy left to run for another estimated 30 Hours.
